The Presumptive (Temporary) Eligibility Program allows the staff of PE Qualified Providers to make eligibility decisions presumptively based on preliminary information that the applicant attests to. When the applicant appears to be below the Medicaid income threshold at the time of application, they can be enrolled for temporary coverage with the requirement that a Michigan Medicaid application will follow the presumptive decision. The PE Qualified Agency is required to attempt to provide assistance with submitting a full-Medicaid application for each patient that has been determined to be eligible for PE by that agency.
